Fruit colour and sugar development depend heavily on light availability in the canopy. Reflective ground cloth redirects sunlight that would otherwise be lost at the soil surface back up into the fruiting zone — improving colour, evening out ripening, and supporting higher sugar levels at harvest.

Ritex reflective ground cover is made from UV-stabilised woven polyethylene. It reflects light and heat upward while remaining permeable — water drains through freely, preventing puddling and moss. Reinforced selvedge edges allow for straightforward installation.

It also suppresses weeds and limits surface evaporation, making it a dual-purpose ground cover where weeds are a secondary concern alongside fruit development.

  • The woven polyethylene surface blocks light at ground level, suppressing weed germination without spraying. Useful in operations running low-input or organic growing systems.

  • The reflective surface reduces excessive ground heat absorption and limits surface evaporation. Soil moisture is retained more effectively, however, the woven structure still allows excess water to pass through to the soil. No puddling, no moss build-up, no standing water around root zone

  • Made from UV-stabilised woven polyethylene. Backed by a minimum 5-year UV degradation warranty. Built to perform across multiple growing seasons without breaking down

  • Selvedge edges are reinforced for durability during installation and removal. We can supply 100m rolls of 5mm black bungy cord for installation.

    Also compatible with standard ground stakes and pins (not stocked).

    Can be rolled up and stored between seasons.
